Let’s start off right!

Father God, we just want to say thank you! Thank you for revelation, inspiration and dedication.  We ask that you bless the eyes that come upon these words, give them a heart to receive, a mind to understand and the intentions to do something about it. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Amen.

“Life’s short…so why wait?”

Let’s talk about this four letter word “wait”. Waiting is not always easy but you have to believe it’s worth it.  I like what Jacob said in Genesis 32:26 “I will not let you go unless you bless me!”  So whatever you’re waiting on, ask yourself, how bad do you want it?  Are you willing to fight for it? I’m here to tell you that when God gives you a thing the fight is fixed.  No reason to fight just don’t give up! Ecclesiastes 9:11 says, The race is not to the swift, neither is it to the strong (someone else came along and added) but to him/her who endures to the end.

Two things to avoid during the wait, don’t get angry and don’t settle. Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

The biblical meaning of wait in the KJV Dictionary says to stay or rest in expectation; to stop or remain stationary, till the arrival of some person or event. To rest in expectation and patience.  Job says in chapter 14, All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change comes.

We are living in a time where everything is rushed.  You can put food in the microwave for quicker results but it sure won’t taste or be as hot as it would be coming out the pot.  The pot may take longer but it stays longer. Ha, funny how I’m the one writing about this topic and you think God doesn’t have a sense of humor. My name is Lady G and I have many pet peeves, one being I don’t like to “wait.”  If you tell me to wait, two things are guaranteed to happen (unless there is a divine intervention by God) I will settle for something else and I will become angry that I settled.

When I look back over my life I wrote the book and made the t-shirt that says, “I didn’t have patience to wait and I usually regretted it.” Hey, listen I’m not the only one.  There’s nothing new under the sun. After God gave Abraham a promise that he would be the father of many nations. Genesis 16:3 says Sarah wanted her man to have a child so bad, instead of waiting to give him one, she gave him permission to lie down with another woman. Then there was Ishmael.  Sarah, listen to Lady G, what’s love got to do with it! First, that’s your man! God did not give him to Hagar.  He gave him to you! Which means if he gave it, whatever he has destined for you both, he will equip!  Second, back then your first born male child had rights and you just let another woman give your man that glory (you crazy).  And, again God has a sense of humor when trying to teach you a lesson, cause you’ll know God could have blessed him with a girl the first time around. It’s something about the “wait” it will have you thinking and doing some crazy things. Remember it takes years to build but seconds to tear down.

So listen here when the thought comes count to 100 and say Lord give me strength to do it the Jesus way!

Lady G
